Sad, What the US has become…

This is almost too sad for words. This is a story that was just sent to me by Brasschecktv.com regarding an old story about Donald Scott, who inherited 200 acres of land worth about $5 million. This land borders a US National Park, and the National Park Service had over the years tried on numerous occasions to purchase this land from Donald Scott but he refused every attempt to procure his land. Due to these very aggressive offers from the national park service, Donald actually predicted his death at the hands of a government agency.
“Donald always had a feeling that the government would do something, or the national park wanted this land to the point where they would do anything to get this land, even kill him”
So, I seems that the Sheriffs office, which was under major budgetary constraints, trumped up a charge of marijuana cultivation in order to seize his land under asset forfeiture laws to supplement crippled budgets. During an investigation of Donald’s shooting, the DA found a document with an appraisal of the land and a figure that a similar plot of land, in the same area, went for a few years earlier. The DA rightfully points out that this data is of no importance for a drug charge. Then, to top it all off, the National Park interfered with firefighters ability to fight the suspicious fire in the farm house. As the interviewer points out:
“One agency of the government comes in and kills your husband, and now that he’s dead another agency of the government comes in and wants your land”
