Wholly shit! This isn’t the first I’ve heard about this but this video does a great job of putting it out there. Make sure everyone you know sees this.

Some of you may have heard about the scandal in China where tainted baby formula was blamed for the death of babies. If you haven’t heard about it, don’t worry, you weren’t supposed to. It was hushed up because it broke during the Chinese Olympic Games and the Chinese didn’t want this story breaking when the world’s journalists were in China. If you think that’s irresponsible the same thing is happening in the US.  The FDA has decided that because the US is so close to a Presidential election a scandal such as this would hamper the election. Over 200 million lbs of tainted Milk products have been imported into the US (and Canada) some of which happens to be in Halloween candy! We are talking about toxic chemicals that were added to milk powder so as to allow the manufacturer (China) to artificially increase the protein content.  This is the same chemical that contributed to the tainted pet food scandal a few months ago. They didn’t hesitate to pull products to save peoples pets, but in order to save face before the election the US FDA and the US government has decided that babies are expendable!

This makes checking the Halloween candy even harder this year. If your child comes home with candy manufactured in China with milk power mentioned as an ingredient THROW IT OUT. The Melamine will build up in their system and could cause any number of long term heath effects such as kidney and Liver damage. DON’T RISK IT, NO CHINESE CANDY!!! Be sure to inform everyone you can.

Update:

Melamine is used to make plastics and fertilizers. It is high in nitrogen and when added to food products can mask low nutrient levels in standard tests.

Consuming it can cause kidney stones and kidney failure. Infants are particularly vulnerable.

Doctors are reporting a “steep rise” in the number of young children with kidney stones, according anecdotal data cited by The New York Times.

Experts say children are consuming too much salt and too little water. They also blame obesity for the increase in the number of pediatric kidney stone cases that doctors are seeing across the USA.

VIdeo: It says ‘Product of Canada’ on the package, but the food is really from China. Or New Zealand. Or…

All I would like to know is what our government is doing about these allegations, are these types of products tested, or are we relying on the Chinese companies to warn us about what are obviously shady practices, or is Canadian Private Industry expected to do these tests ?
