I’m kind of at a loss for words regarding the video below. It is a video released by wikileaks which was apparently going to be released by the pentagon but they decided against it, and I can see why. Apparently wikileaks broke the encryption on the video and has pissed off some people high up in the chain of command in the US military-industrial complex.
The video was shot by a US helicopter in Iraq and shows a group of photographers and other civilians who look to be preparing to set up a camera for some reason. However, the US soldier on the gun mistakes their camera’s as AK-47′s, a mistake that isn’t all that surprising, considering that is what they are trained to see. It really goes to show you that since they are expecting to see people with weapons.
It seems sick hearing the soldier seemingly challenging this injured civilian to pick up a weapon, especially considering they didn’t seem to have weapons. It really gives insight into the minds of these people when they are almost begging the order allowing them to shoot innocent civilians.
Then, a black van drives up and appears to try and rescue one of the individuals hurt in this air-strike. It has been confirmed that there are two children in the black van but that doesn’t seem to stop this soldier. Isn’t it against the rules of war to kill people attempting to aid the injured??? It’s sick to hear the soldiers laughing as the tanks drive over bodies of civilians assumed dead.
